Just as one of his students describes, Jimi's passion for plants is highly contagious. He fell in love with gardening at a very young age and trained at the National Botanical Gardens in Dublin. Later, he was appointed as the Head Gardener at Airfield Gardens at the tender age of 21, where he gained notoriety for resuscitating a large Victorian garden to its former glory. After a successful 12-year career at Airfield, Jimi bought 20 acres of land, close to his birthplace, established the legendary Hunting Brook Gardens and opened it to the public in May 2002.
